Best and Worst Drugstore Products of 2012

Hello lovelies, the lovely Nuala tagged me to do this post and I think it's a really great post so I decided to do it.

1. What was your favourite drugstore makeup brand of 2012?
There has been many good brands this year, i've loved Revlon for there Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, L'oreal for Lip glosses, Sleek for Blushes, Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipsticks and MUA for Eyeshadow Palette's.

2. What are your least favourite products of 2012?
17 Hide Away Concealer Cream, it's not the best concealer for covering anything up and it's not very long lasting, the black bit at the top all the black comes off so it's very annoying, I do love MUA lipsticks but the shade Juicy is a light orange which is too pale for me, AKA duo you can buy this online not from the drugstore but the light shade isn't very pigmented and blue's aren't colours I use very often.

 3. What is the best makeup bargain of 2012?
MUA the normal range is amazing everything is only £1 but such good quality it's very long lasting and pigmented.

4. Show your best drugstore dupe for 2012.
I have a few good dupes the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are a dupe for Clinique Chubby Sticks, MUA Undressed Palette is a dupe for the Naked Palette, Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Blush is a dupe for MAC Hug Me.

 5. Which drugstore product did you buy in 2012 that wasn't worth the hype?
The Revlon Lip Butters, I do really like them there very moisturising and good for summer when you don't want to wear lipstick but the lighter shades aren't as pigmented and not very long lasting, there overpriced at £7.99 for a tinted lip balm and you get cheaper options that are better quality.

6. What product wins your award for Best Drugstore Product of 2012?
It's between the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and Real Technique Brushes, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are very pigmented, moisturising and very long lasting, the Real Technique Brushes are great quality and reasonable priced, my favourite brushes are the Stippling Brush and the Buffing Brush.

I tag you all to do your best and worst drugstore products of 2012.

Happy New Year to you all.

Small Sales Haul

Hello lovelies, sorry I haven't posted I've been quite busy, hope your all having a nice Christmas break, I went shopping yesterday and picked up a few bits so I thought I would show you.

Jewellery
These were a bargain at £1 each from New Look, I usually have trouble finding rings to fit because I have really skinny fingers but they fit me so I was happy.

Fashion
I got this dress from Dorothy Perkins for only £10, I had been looking in all the sales and didn't find anything till I went into Dorothy Perkins, I love the colour and spotty detailing at the top, I can't wait to wear it.
Here's another dress I did a online order for Republic, I order this and a skirt but the skirt didn't look right so i'm taking it back, the dress was £15 which is a great price.

Makeup
I got this Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Petal from T K Maxx for only £7.99 which is a great price, it's a peachy pink colour and I will do a review of it soon. I needed a new eyeliner and the Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner was on offer for £4.50 and I've heard great things about the Soap and Glory makeup so I got the eyeliner to try it's in carbon black, it was from Boots. I got the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick which is a bright fuchsia pink, I love these but I think it's quite pricey for £7.99 but they are on offer at Boots for £5 so I went and bought one.

Let me know if you have found any good bargains would love to know.

Hope you liked the little haul.

Holly Jolly Holiday Tag

Hello lovelies, I realised I haven't done any Christmas post so I decide to do one and I saw this tag on the lovely Nia's blog and thought it was a great tag so I decide to do it.

Picture from Nia's blog.

1. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until last minute?
I started at beginning of December it's usually that time each year, I just usually look around and think that will be a perfect present for someone and will buy it as soon as I find it.

2. If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be?
It would have to be between Elf and Home Alone, love watching Christmas films.

3. Which do you like better: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
I like them both on Christmas Eve we eat Chinese and just chill and watch films and listen to music I get really excited and can't sleep but it has to be Christmas Day, getting to open presents, visiting family and having Christmas Dinner yum :).

4. When does your family put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it?
We usually put it up one day on the first week of December, we all usually help decorate the tree but this year my dad did most of it and I just put chocolates on the tree.

5. White lights or coloured lights?
It's got to be coloured lights.

6. Are you guilty of peeking at your presents or do you like surprise?
When I was younger I wanted to know what I got so I would try to peek but I don't really mind now sometimes I will peek and sometimes I like having a surprise.

7. Would you rather live in a gingerbread house or Santa's Workshop?
I would say Santa's workshop it would be fun making presents.

8. Tell us your Christmas Eve traditions!
We usually just stay in or go out and for tea we usually have Chinese, we watch films and TV and listen to music it's just really nice and fun.

9. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone, who would it be?
I'm not sure Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Zac Efron, Channing Tatum or Ian Solmerhalder.

10. What tops your tree?
It's a star this year but we have had an angel before as well.

It's a great little tag and I tag you all to do it, leave me a comment when you've done it would love to see your answers.

Merry Christmas to all of you, hope you have a great Christmas :).

Hope you liked the post.

Burt's Bees Lip Balm Review

Hello lovelies, here's another review for you, I also won this in a giveaway by the lovely Lucy.

I really like the packaging it's really cute.

It has a really fresh and minty smell and taste.

It is moisturising but not as moisturising as some of my other lip balms or vaseline.

It's really smooth and soothing on the lips.

You get a lot of product it's 8.5g so it will last you for a long time.

It costs £3.69 which I think is quite pricey for a lip balm.

Overall it is a good product but I much prefer other lip balms such as the body shop and w7 lip balms and vaseline.

What do you think to the Burt's Bees Lip Balm?

Hope you liked the post.

Model's Own Ibiza Mix Nail Polish Review

Hey lovelies, sorry I haven't posted since Tuesday, I've been really busy with college work and I went on a college trip down to London the other day so I haven't had much time to blog.

Today's a post is a review on a Model's Own Nail Polish.

This is my first Model's Own Nail Polish and I won it in a giveaway by the lovely Lucy, you should definitely go look at her blog it's great.

The Model's Own Nail Polish costs £5, which I think is a reasonable price for the amount you get in it,  I've always liked the look of the nail polishes but never bought one but I'm so glad I won it in this giveaway.

I have the shade Ibiza Mix, it's multi coloured with different size glitter, this is a great shade to go over any plain nail polish, it has its own top coat when you apply it and doesn't take long to dry.

It's so easy to apply and you can apply as many layers as you want to get the amount of glitter you want on your nails.

It's perfect for any occasion and especially as it's coming up to party season.

Overall I love this nail polish and would definitely recommend it.

What do you think to the Model's Own Nail Polishes?

Hope you liked the post.

Guest Blog Post

Hey Lovelies, here is a guest post from the lovely Erinn from Discount Beauty.

My name is Erinn and my blog is Enhance Your Natural Beauty for Less  and I have a skincare themed post for you guys today!

Tis the season of festive holiday parties and  family gatherings, which always bring the stress of all the things you have to do during this busy time of year. For some (like me) stress brings breakouts and they always seem to pop up at the worst times, like right before a big holiday party. So I wanted to share with all of you tips and tricks to make that spot quickly fade or even disappear! Better yet, all of the things used in this post are all things you can find in your kitchen, so read on for tips to get gorgeous skin for the holidays!

How to get rid of that spot quick:

*When a pimple first appears it's red, painful and just plain ugly, so the first thing we want to do is make the spot smaller and take away the pain. We will be doing this with what you can call the "Icy Hot Process"

First: Place an ice cube on the spot for 5-10 minutes

Next: Place a warm/hot rag on the spot for 5-10 minutes

Repeat this process 2-3 times, you will notice your spot getting smaller and less painful, don't worry about the redness, it's just from the ice! This has always been my favourite go to technique right when a spot appears. It helps with healing the spot that you already have but it also prevents the spot from getting larger.

*Next we are going to reduce the redness of the spot and make it less noticeable. Wait to start this process until some down time after doing the "Icy Hot Process"

What you will need is:

Baking Soda & Water

Mix equal parts Baking Soda and water, until you have made a thick paste. You only need about a dime-sized amount of this paste since we are only using it on one spot. After you have made the paste, rub it on the spot and massage it onto your skin for about 2 minutes. Baking soda is a great for exfoliating (especially if you have sensitive skin) and reduces the redness of the spot. After massaging it into the skin, leave it on your spot for 10 minutes as a mask and wash it off. You should notice that the spot has lightened up a bit and is becoming less noticeable.

*Lastly, we are going to treat the spot with a nourishing mask to help the spot from being irritated. This mask treats the spot and helps it fade quicker. a nourishing mask like this is essential for curing the zit and making sure it doesn't get worse or even appear again shortly after it's healed.

You will need the following ingredients:

First you'll need a teaspoon of Natural Yogurt (I prefer Greek yogurt): Yogurt is great to use on spots because when applied to skin it fights bacteria which causes your spot to appear in the first place.

You will also need 1/2 a teaspoon of honey: Honey is also a great bacteria fighter and helps moisturise your skin so your spot doesn't become dry and flaky which can be hard to cover up with makeup.

Next we will need 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice: The acidity of the lemon will dry out the clogged pore and balance the pH levels in your skin. Lemon juice also slightly bleaches the skin and takes away the spot's redness.

Lastly, you will need a teaspoon of whole grain oats: Oats are great at calming the skin and helping reduce the redness of the spot and helping with not irritating the spot.

Mix up all of the ingredients until you make a paste, you may have to add more honey or oats depending on the consistency. Apply the mask to your spot and leave on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off. Apply your favourite moisturiser after you are done so the spot doesn't become flaky.

That is the end of the whole process to get rid of a spot quickly! You can either use all of these steps or pick and choose your favourite steps, depending on how sensitive your skin is.

I hope some of these tips help with giving you flawless skin for the holidays and I hope all of you have a great holiday season!

Thanks for reading!

Hope you enjoyed the post and thank you to Erinn for doing the post for me.

Sunkissed Review

Hey lovelies, here's a review of the sunkissed products I used in my party look.

I think it's a great palette and giant bronzer, everything is pigmented.

You can create a variety of looks with the eyeshadows for  both daytime and nighttime and smokey and neutral looks and is very long lasting.

The giant bronzer, the sun is a matte brown bronzer so I really like it for bronzing or contouring, the light brown and the bronzer in the palette are both shimmery and I'm not really a fan of shimmery bronzer.

The highlighter is gold and shimmery, it's a really nice highlight.

You can have a variety of lip combos, you can have red, nudey brown or pink and you can mix the colours together to create new colours.

The mascara is great it just lengthens your lashes.

The Sunkissed Luxury Bronze Maxi Compact is £8.99 and the Giant Bronzer is £4.99.

Overall I think there great products and I recommend them.

Skinetica Anti-Blemish Skincare Review

Hey lovelies, I was contacted by Skinetica to review there anti-blemish skincare treatment.

I thought this would be a different post for you because I don't really talk about skincare. I do take care of my skin but I much prefer talking about makeup and jewellery.

"Skinetica is a genuine product that actually does what it says on the bottle!
A unique new solution that clears unsightly breakouts with visible improvements in 2-3 days.
It has No harsh chemicals, No side effects, Kind to skin, Dermatologically tested, Non Toxic, non staining, non greasy."

I've had Skinetica for just over a week, my skin isn't too bad, I just get a few spots when it's that time of the month, so I've been using it on the spots I have got and it reduces in size but hasn't completely got rid of them so you may need to use it for longer.

It's quite refreshing and non drying when you apply to your skin.

You need to make sure all your makeup is taken off, no moisturiser left on the skin then using a cotton pad apply Skinetica to your skin.

"Skinetica - skin clearing and blemish removal, fast acting - soothes, calms and clears"

It was in the October Glossy Box.

It costs £9.99 for a 100ml bottle.

Overall I think it's a good product and it will at least reduce your spots if it doesn't completely get rid of them. it's definitely going to be in my skincare routine now.

Hope you liked the post.
