Illamasqua Beauty School Drop In Event Part 1

Hello Lovelies, yesterday Illamasqua had a beauty school drop in at Meadowhall in Sheffield and I went with the lovely Aqeela and Hayley go look at their blogs there amazing, I'm doing it in a few parts because they went into a lot of detail and I didn't want to make a long blog post so this will be all about the face, then the second part will be eyes and the third part lips. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful I did.

First just some general information, Illamasqua first started in London in Selfridges and been in Sheffield for under a year, Alex Sparks is the founder of Illamasqua and Jo Corrie is too, Vivanne Westwood uses Illamasqua makeup.

The makeup artist in Illamsqua at Meadowhall are Zoe Assistant Manger, Carl Manger, Katy moved from Clinque, Rachel Part Time while studying.

Zoe and Carl talked about the products and applied the makeup to two models called Hannah and Lelia.

The staff were really lovely.
This is the model Hannah.
This is the model Leah.

Firstly cream pigments they used orange and green, orange/salmon colour are for darkness under the eyes and green is for colour correction they used a synthetic blending brush.

Synthetic brushes are supposed to hold colour better and spreads easier, it is meant to be better than any other hair brushes.
The blending brush.

Illamasqua uses 60% pigment in there products in other companies its only 25/30%.

The Illamasqua primers are really light so you can't feel it, they use silicon in there primers which is supposed to help older people with lines to smooth them out, they used a highlighting brush to apply the primer.

Primer applied to models.

Yellow foundations help counteract redness.

There most popular foundation that they used on the models was skin base, they say its creamy and moisturising like a second skin, they used a blending brush to give more control and easier to blend.

I was matched and tried the skin base while I was there it makes your skin feel really nice and soft and smooth.

Skin base foundation has pink and yellow undertones in 28 different shades to match everyone.

There powder foundation and other powders are finally milled to help applying to the skin.

White translucent powder is finally milled and really soft, its blend able and doesn't come out white when you blend it.

Your skin has different undertones if your ill, when you run and just your normal day.

The foundation and powder used and the brush.

There brushes are really soft and dense.

They used 2 different techniques for contouring, Zoe contoured and sculpted in the hollows of the cheeks, she used a powder to contour, if you want to really contour you should use an eyeshadow brush to get into the hollows, Carl contoured by having it intensified at the top of the cheeks and bringing it down but making sure there is hardly anything further down using a cream pigment.

The cream pigment used on Lelia, perfect for olive and darker skin tones to contour.
The bronzer used on Hannah.

You can contour to change your nose shape to make it look thinner.

When highlighting start off with a light dusting and build it up if you need to.

They just used a pigment and pressed it into the skin to highlight.
It was a gorgeous shade.

There blushes come in a wide range of colours.

The blush used on Hannah.

The cream blush used on Lelia.

Cream blushes go on better if you don't powder your cheeks and you can use them under your foundation to show through.

How the blush and contour looks on Lelia.

Hope you enjoyed the post and you should go to the beauty school drop in if you can.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Review

Hello Lovelies, here's a review of the Rimmel London Scandaleyes eyeshadow stick, I've not really seen many posts on these sticks and they are quite new.

Boots have £1 off at the minute so its £4.99 and they are usually £5.99.

These eyeshadow sticks look like a dupe for the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils.

I have the shade Bulletproof Beige its a metallic champaigney beige colour, it's quite neutral and I love wearing it all over the lid or in the inner corner.

You can wear it as an eyeliner, just on the lid on it's own, on the lid and eyeshadow over the top as a base or primer and this shade you can wear in the inner corner.

It's easy to apply.

They have five shades this beige/champaigney colour, bronzey colour, pink, purple and blue shades.

I really like the look of the bronzey colour.

They are really creamy, pigmented and long lasting.

I've worn them for about 12 hours before and they have stayed in place all day.

It says its waterproof but I don't think it is really waterproof.

Here's a swatch I absolutely love this shade.

Overall I think its an amazing product I think the only downside will be when you have to sharpen it because it's so creamy and soft and don't think its very waterproof.

Let me know what you think to them.

Purple Love-Makeup and Outfit

Hello Lovelies, I never really do fashion posts on my blog, my style is quite casual for daytime and then dressy for nighttime but I wanted to do something different for you and this is my favourite outfit that I like to wear for either daytime or nighttime, I'm not the most fashionable of people that's why I don't really post much fashion posts and I'm more into beauty than fashion.

The makeup.

I left the eyes quite natural and then applied eyeliner but not too much with a little wing and applied mascara.

Filled in my brows.

I slightly contoured, applied blush and highlight.

Then on my lips I applied L'oreal 290 plum passion and MUA lipgloss in shade 4, I love wearing this combo and I love plum colours.

The Outfit.

The top and bracelets are from New Look, I love the top I like the way it fits and obviously the colour, purple is my favourite colour.
Leggings are from Matalans but I got them a couple of years ago so don't know if you can still get them, I love the detailing down the side they are my favourite leggings.
The cardigan is from George at Asda.
I just put socks on that picture but I love fluffy thick socks these are from Primark.

Hope you liked the post.

Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette

Hello Lovelies, I'm really sorry I haven't posted much this week, my room's been redecorated and my makeup is all packed up and I've been ill so I haven't been able to post, I might not be able to post that much next week either but after that it should be back to normal hopefully.

Here's a review of the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette, I won this on a twitter giveaway by the lovely Grace from All That Slap, she is so nice and has a great a blog, you should go have a look.

This is a great palette, I've seen it for ages and wanted it but never bought, I absolutely love it, the palette is really pigmented and creamy and you can create different looks with this palette.

This palette is great for beginners, it has it labelled on the palette on how to apply but you don't have to follow it you can mix shades together or apply an eyeshadow from one row or the other row it's up to you.

This is from the first row, the browbone/highlight colour this is the first one in the palette it's hard to see it's quite light and shimmery but it is build able, the eyelid colour is a peachy pink , the crease colour is a light goldy brown, the definer is a dark brown with goldy/orangey flecks.  All of these colours are really nice and pigmented apart from the highlight.

This is from the second row, the browbone/highlight is a goldy/silvery colour I wouldn't use it as a highlight, its better for the lid or crease, the eyelid colour is a green colour I'm not a huge fan of green but it looks a nice colour, the crease colour is a dark brown nearly black with goldy yellow flecks in it, the definer colour is a unique colour that I've never seen before I really like it, it's a medium brown with a turquoise/bluey undertone.

Some shades in the palette are dupes of MAC eyeshadows.

It's an amazing palette I love it, it has a variety of colours, there all creamy, pigmented and long lasting I highly recommend buying it.

I just want to say a huge thank you to Grace for this palette.

You can't buy this palette in the UK, I'm not sure where Grace got it from but I did look online you can get the palette from Ebay but it does cost £11.99, you could do a swap with someone from America or Canada either so it's not as pricey.

Rimmel London Apocalips Review

Hello Lovelies, I'm sure you will have seen everywhere that bloggers have been raving about these products and writing posts about them and I bought a couple and wanted to do a review of them.

The Rimmel London Apocalips are £5.99 which is a great price for such an amazing product and theres still 3 for 2 on in Boots.

They are definitely worth the hype they are an amazing product, I really like the packaging it looks really cool and sleek, I love the name Apocalips and the shade names I have Celestial and Big Bang.

The formula of this are great, they go on easy and once you've applied they are very moisturising and make your lips feel smooth and soft, they aren't sticky at all, they look glossy on the lips as well and they last for about 5 or 6 hours before they need to be applied again but they do leave a lovely stain.

This is the shade Celestial which is my favourite shade out of all the Apocalips, it's a dusky pink colour which is quite natural and perfect for everyday and I've worn this the most out of the two.

This shade is Big Bang this is the one I heard the most about and everyone seemed to be loving it, its a bright bold red perfect for nights out.

These are an amazing product and would definitely recommend you buying them.

17 Makeup Collection Kit Review

Hello Lovelies, sorry for not blogging much been busy this week with assignments for college but I always feel bad if I don't get much of a chance to blog and I really enjoy blogging, so I have some time now and wanted to do a post for you.

If you saw my What I Got For Christmas post, this was one of my presents from my mum and dad I thought I should review because its a great little kit.

I think this a great kit for beginners especially as it's got everything they could need to experiment with.

It's got a blush brush, eyeshadow brush, angled eye define brush, lip brush and an eyeliner brush, these are nice brushes there not the best, they aren't the softest of brushes but they do the job. 17 photo flawless primer, I've used this quite a few times and think it's a really good primer it keeps my makeup in place and makes my skin feel soft. There's a sharper for the eyeliners in the set.

There's a little booklet with hints and tips on how to do makeup looks which will be helpful for beginners. There is eyelash curlers to curl your lashes they are quite good.

There is all different lip colours to choose from a light pink, orangey goldy with shimmer, medium pink, a browny nude and a red berry colour these are all very nice and you could mix them to create a colour you want they aren't that pigmented you need to keep going over it but I really like them. The baked eyeshadows I love these they aren't the best in pigmentation compared to the MUA ones but I really like them, I haven't found many baked eyeshadows that are as pigmented as normal eyeshadows, you can create different looks a natural look with peaches and brown or a smokey eye with browns and greys.

These eyeshadows in the middle are amazing I really like them, they are very pigmented and long lasting, I like to mix the baked eyeshadows with these and create different looks, my favourite is the first shade called natural it's a light beigey brown colour.

The metallic cream it says you can use it for eyes, cheeks and lips but I think it's best as a highlight on the cheeks it's a shimmery pinky white that gives a nice glow, the bramble frost blusher is a peachy pink I really love the colour and is perfect for everyday it's quite natural and it's pigmented and long lasting, the limited edition bronzer, it's a shimmery bronzer which I'm not a huge fan of but it is alright and it is pigmented, I really like the highlight and the light pink blush there nice, you could mix all the colour together. I haven't used the mascara yet I didn't want to dry it up and I had other mascara's to use, the black and brown eyeliners are really pigmented and long lasting, I think its good they put both brown and black in, you can use black for more dramatic looks and brown for subtle everyday looks, the gel eyeliner is really nice I don't think it's as good as the Maybelline gel eyeliner but it is really good and pigmented and long lasting.

Overall I think it's definitely a good kit, I know it was a kit for Christmas but if you can get your hands on it I would really recommend it.

I'm not sure on price because I got as a gift but 17 isn't expensive so I don't think this kit will be.
